IMMA ROSE’S STORY
Born October 29, 2013 to Paul and Sara Lockridge, Imma (Emma) Rose Lockridge, though now the youngest of three children, would soon find herself the star of the show. She was truly full of life, full of hope and full of love. Some even called her a “little angel” because the light of her life and love would shine through full of color, wonder and personality, with the ability to encourage and uplift whoever she was around. She was quick to forgive and to get on with sharing and enjoying life. She also loved to sing and dance and even at four, to pick out her own clothes. One of her favorite songs to sing was “True Colors.”
On May 6, 2018, Imma and her mother Sara were involved in a car accident and were both rushed to different hospitals. Her mother passed on May 7, 2018 while Imma remained on life support. On May 9, 2018, Imma was declared clinically brain dead. It was during these 3 days and nights at the hospital, knowing she still had so much life to give, her dad would choose to donate her organs. Through this effort, Imma was able to help continue the life of 1 adult and 2 children.
In closing are the words to a song her dad wrote for her around New Year’s before her passing and though, not seeing or knowing at that time, these words would later seem almost prophetic knowing Imma Rose is now and forever more full of life and joy with her Father in Heaven.
“I’m a Rose, no matter how you read it
I’m a Rose, my Father He believes it
I’m a Rose, beautiful and blooming you will see…
I’m a Rose and many they will know it
I’m a Rose, by Grace my life will show it
I’m a Rose, following my Father where He goes.”
